A Modest Proposal

    Isn't it “special” that Oklahoma Legislators, mainly Republicans, voted to protect us women from having to make those tough decisions about our bodies.  These Republicans have, thankfully, made these decisions for us and have written them into law.

     For example, two such Oklahoma laws are now before the U. S. Supreme Court.  One makes decisions for women about the use of abortion-inducing drugs.  The other requires women to undergo an ultrasound test (ie, a probe up the vagina) before getting an abortion.

     I ’m so thankful for not having to make these decisions for myself, I propose that  similar laws be passed in Oklahoma to protect men’s reproductive health.  How about a law which “requires men to visit a sex therapist, undergo a cardiac stress test, and get their sexual partner to sign a notarized affidavit confirming impotency to get a prescription for Viagra and other erectile dysfunction drugs.

  

     The law should also require men who take the drugs to be continually tested for heart problems, receive counseling about possible side effects and receive information about pursuing celibacy as a viable lifestyle choice.”

     In conclusion, wouldn’t it be great to legislate both women’s health and men’s health.  I would call that “equal justice under the law.”
